Arguably the single most important piece of legislation affecting public corporations since the U.S. securities laws of the early 1930s, the Act charges managers with the task of certifying that they have an operational system of internal controls over financial reporting.

Fitzgerald focuses on the need for a strong partnership between the IT and business functions to enable timely and accurate financial reporting. He asks six questions you must be able to answer to see if your systems and processes stand up to the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley. Fitzgerald also details the specific requirements of key provisions of the Act and explains how to comply with them.
